Managing Your PlayCode Subscription

Manage your PlayCode Pro subscription including cancellation, reactivation, plan changes, and payment updates.

Accessing Subscription Settings

To manage your subscription:

  1. Click your profile picture in the top-right corner
  2. Select "Settings"
  3. Go to the "Subscription" tab

Canceling Your Subscription

You can cancel your subscription anytime with no penalties or fees.

Standard Cancellation

  1. Go to Settings → Subscription
  2. Click "Cancel Subscription"
  3. Review what you'll lose when downgrading
  4. Optionally provide feedback
  5. Confirm cancellation

What happens after cancellation:

  • Your subscription continues until the end of your billing period
  • You keep Pro features until that date
  • After the period ends, you're automatically downgraded to Free
  • You can reactivate anytime before the end date

Immediate Cancellation

If you need to cancel immediately, there's a "Cancel immediately" link in the cancellation notice. This ends your subscription right away with no refund for the remaining time.

Reactivating Your Subscription

Changed your mind? You can reactivate your subscription anytime before it ends:

Method 1: In PlayCode

  1. Go to Settings → Subscription
  2. Click "Don't Cancel - Keep Subscription"
  3. Your subscription continues automatically

Method 2: Billing Portal

  1. Go to Settings → Subscription
  2. Click "Open Billing Portal"
  3. Click "Renew subscription"
  4. Changes sync automatically to PlayCode

Switching Between Monthly and Yearly

You can switch between monthly and yearly billing at any time:

  1. Go to Settings → Subscription
  2. Click "Open Billing Portal"
  3. Click "Update plan"
  4. Select monthly ($9.99/month) or yearly ($99/year)
  5. Changes take effect at your next billing date

Note: When switching from monthly to yearly, you'll get a prorated credit for your remaining monthly subscription time.

Updating Payment Method

To update your credit card or payment method:

  1. Go to Settings → Subscription
  2. Click "Open Billing Portal"
  3. Click "Add payment method" or "Update"
  4. Enter new payment details
  5. Save changes

We accept:

  • Credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express)
  • Apple Pay
  • Google Pay
  • Bank accounts (in supported countries)

Downloading Invoices

To download invoices for your records or accounting:

  1. Go to Settings → Subscription
  2. Click "Open Billing Portal"
  3. Scroll to "Invoice history"
  4. Click "Download" next to any invoice

Invoices are available for all past payments and include:

  • Invoice number
  • Payment date and amount
  • Billing period
  • Payment method used
  • Tax information (if applicable)

Adding Tax ID

For business accounts or VAT purposes:

  1. Go to Settings → Subscription
  2. Click "Open Billing Portal"
  3. Click "Add tax ID"
  4. Enter your tax ID number
  5. Save changes

Tax IDs will appear on all future invoices.

Billing Portal Features

The Stripe billing portal provides secure access to:

  • Change subscription plan (monthly ↔ yearly)
  • Update payment methods
  • Download invoices
  • Add or update tax IDs
  • View billing history
  • Cancel or renew subscription

All changes made in the billing portal sync automatically to your PlayCode account within seconds.

Common Questions

Will I get a refund if I cancel?

We process refunds on a case-by-case basis. If you cancel within 7 days of purchase and haven't extensively used Pro features, contact us to discuss a refund.

Can I pause my subscription?

We don't offer subscription pausing. You can cancel and reactivate anytime, or consider switching to annual billing for better value if you plan to use PlayCode long-term.

What if my payment fails?

If a payment fails, we'll automatically retry it 3 times over 7 days. Update your payment method in the billing portal to avoid service interruption. After the retry period, your subscription will be cancelled.

Can I change my billing email?

Your billing email is tied to your PlayCode account email. To change it, update your account email in Settings → Account, and it will automatically update your billing email.
