How to Add Balance
Top up your AI credits balance manually to use AI features. Choose any amount from $5 to $995.
Requirements
You need an active Pro subscription to add balance.
If you're on the free plan, you'll need to upgrade to Pro first to access AI features and balance management.
How to Add Balance
Step 1: Open Account Settings
- Click your profile picture in the top right corner
- Select Account Settings
- Go to the Billing tab
Step 2: Add Balance
- Find the "AI Credits Balance" section
- Click Add Balance
- Choose a preset amount ($5, $10, $20, $50, $100) or enter a custom amount
- Click Continue to Payment
Step 3: Complete Payment
What happens next depends on whether you have a saved payment method:
With Saved Payment Method (Instant)
If you've previously saved a payment method:
- Your card is charged immediately
- No redirect to Stripe
- Balance updates within 1-2 seconds
- You'll see a success message
Without Saved Payment Method (Stripe Checkout)
If this is your first time or you removed your payment method:
- You'll be redirected to Stripe Checkout
- Enter your payment details securely
- Complete the payment
- You'll be redirected back to PlayCode
- Your payment method is saved for future instant top-ups
Smart Charging
PlayCode uses smart charging to make top-ups as fast as possible. After your first top-up, your payment method is securely saved (managed by Stripe). Future top-ups are instant with no redirect.

- Auto-recharge ready: Enable auto-recharge without re-entering your card
- Secure: Payment details stored by Stripe, not on our servers
Payment Methods
We support all major payment methods through Stripe:
- Credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, etc.)
- Apple Pay
- Google Pay
- Link (Stripe's express checkout)
Managing Saved Payment Method
You can view and remove your saved payment method in Account Settings:
- Go to Account Settings → Billing
- Find the "Payment Method" section in AI Credits Balance
- Click Remove to delete your saved card
Note: Removing your payment method will also disable auto-recharge if it's enabled.
Top-Up Limits
- Minimum: $5 per top-up
- Maximum: $995 per top-up
- No daily limit: Top up as many times as needed
Balance Updates
Your balance updates automatically after successful payment:
- Instant charges: Balance updates within 1-2 seconds via webhook
- Stripe Checkout: Balance updates when you return from Stripe after successful payment
Troubleshooting
Balance Not Updated After Payment
If your balance doesn't update after a successful payment:
- Wait 30 seconds and refresh the page
- Check your email for a payment receipt from Stripe
- Contact support with your payment details
Payment Failed
If your payment fails:
- Check that your card has sufficient funds
- Verify your card details are correct
- Try a different payment method
- Contact your bank if the issue persists
Card Declined
Common reasons for card declines:
- Insufficient funds
- Card expired
- International payments blocked by your bank
- Security hold by your bank (contact them to authorize the charge)
Security
All payments are processed securely through Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment processor. We never see or store your full card details.
Your payment information is:
- Encrypted during transmission
- Stored securely by Stripe (not on our servers)
- Protected by industry-standard security measures
